NYS Updates: Enlarged City School District of Troy Increases its Sales and Use Tax on Utility Services Effective September 1, 2010!

Attention Tax Payers:

All persons required to collect sales tax, pay compensating use tax, or both: The Board of Education of the Enlarged City School District of Troy has passed a resolution increasing its 2% sales tax on consumer utilities to 3% effective September 1, 2010. This change will affect your tax collections and payments if you make taxable sales or deliveries to customers, or if you make taxable uses, within the Enlarged City School District of Troy.

Therefore, beginning September 1, 2010, all taxable sales and deliveries of consumer utilities made within the Enlarged City School District of Troy are subject to tax at the 3% rate, except as otherwise provided by the special transitional provisions.
